Travel à la carte
Italy is a new departure for Travel à la carte. A small family-owned company we have over twenty years built in reputation for high quality self-catering holidays to the Greek islands.
Building on the success of that programme, four years ago we ventured into another wonderful holiday territory: Italy, with the emphasis on the regions of Marche and Tuscany. And though the nature of the holiday may be different, our commitment to quality and service remain as great as ever. We’ve been able to draw on our years of experience to select a range of highly individual properties, each with great character, charm and authenticity. Many are traditional Marche and Tuscan farmhouses but you can also find a converted Romanesque church, the elegant Villa of one of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany, and a remarkable fifteenth-century look-out tower. We’ve taken particular care to find houses in wonderful natural settings, be it in the foothills of the dramatic Sibillini mountains, the lush countryside a walnut’s throw from the artistic treasures of Urbino, in the heart of the Maremma regional park in Tuscany’s unexplored southern reaches, or in the quieter parts of Chianti and Umbria.
We know our customers appreciate a high level of service and don’t want to be left with just a photocopied map and UK phone number, especially if anything goes wrong. So in each of our areas we have a local English speaking agent with a deep knowledge of the region, who will be only a phone call away should you need advice or assistance – though knowing the owners of the houses as we do, we’re sure that any hiccups will be resolved very quickly.
