This lovely old sandstone house is thought to have been built by Benedictine monks in the seventeenth century, although records show that there was a house on this spot two hundred years earlier. When the house was converted into three apartments in 2000, the present owners, the Rossi family, made every effort to retain its historic ambience. The spacious living rooms in the two larger apartments have original stone floors, imposing fireplaces, and thick wooden crossbeams while the bedrooms are decorated in a simple rustic style with antique bedsteads and dark wood furnishings. The position of the (12m x 6m) pool, just below the house, makes the most of the magnificent 180-degree view which takes in the peaks of Monte Catria and Monte Nerone. The owners are happy to take guests in search truffles, wild mushrooms and wild berries in the 60 hectares of land surrounding the house, where there is also an 8km circular woodland path. Distances:
